Walkinstown Library
It's easy to forget what a fantastic local amenity Walkinstown Library is, and how it has been at the heart of the Walkinstown community for decades. For families, and older book lovers alike, there is a wide variety of materials available.
Walkinstown Library was opened on 2 October 1961 by Rev. Joseph Callan. The library cost £18,500 and stocked 7,000 books with a special children’s section containing 3,500 books. The library served Walkinstown, Cherryfield, Greenhills, Perrystown, and the Manor Estate. The building also contained a lecture hall and committee room.
